RA CH 12
In chapter 12 the main idea of chapter is understanding visual rhetoric. VIsual rhetoric can be images that are meant to influence us. For example it can be photographs, youtube videos, your smartphone and traffic signs. This chapter goes more in depth on what visual aids roles are in a powerpoint. Visuals should never be used to over shadow your main points of the presentation. Visuals should actually be supporting the words that you are speaking to the audience. Also visuals that do not have words on them usually are more powerful than the ones that do. When you see a visual you try to come up with what its expressing and it allows you to appreciate the image much more.
RPC CH 7
Out of all the readings on chapter seven there was one reading that stood out to me. The one that stood out to me the most was why video games should be played with friends not with online strangers. This reading speaks on the evolution of gaming. It all began with driving over to the arcade and socializing with friends and family and then eventually, it evolved to having your own game console at home where you can play with one other person. As years went by you were able to play with up to 16 people online. Eventually we got to the point where we are no longer playing with our friends and family we are now playing with complete strangers. The evolution of gaming is making us lose the practice of socializing with others in person. Overall this chapter was very interesting.
